Pure Bliss !!

We were a group of 13 and this place is way more beautiful and amazing than in the pics. We couldn’t have asked for more . You can just sit on the front porch and get lost in time . Kids have a big collection of toys as well. Every amenity you can ask for in a mountain home . We will visit this place again for sure .Host is so responsive and very kind as well .

Great house and location, highly recommended

We enjoyed our stay at this house and would go back again. The timing of our BRP trip wasn't great, right after Helene devastated North Carolina. The Parkway on the south end was closed and there were periodic closures on the north end. The stretch we used the most was mostly open from south of Roanoke down to the NC border and the section closest to the house (Floyd, Rt8 to south of Meadows of Dan) was always open. People live off the parkway and will clear debris themselves just to get where they need to go without waiting for the Park Service, pretty impressive. There are multiple ways to get in and out. Location: This house is close enough to the Blue Ridge Parkway for easy access yet far enough off the road for some peace and quiet. There's a full grocery store up in Floyd and convenient gas, stores, and something to eat just south in Meadows of Dan. The house sits 600 feet off the road up a gravel driveway that goes past some dairy cows grazing and no you don't smell the cows. If the skies are clear you'll have some superb stargazing. Bring a tripod with an attachment for your smartphone. We got to hear the coyotes off in the distance, some owls and birds we never saw at home. There's deer too. The house is fenced in so you're good to sit outside at night. Research your roads/directions and follow the suggested email directions as some GPS services will take you down the wrong road. It thinks roads exist where none do. We tried one as a lark and sure enough it dead ended in the backwoods! House: It was just as described and clean. Nice touch was having nightlights throughout the house (helped with stargazing). The wrap around porch was fantastic, we could go out and have coffee and always find a sunny or shady spot. Hair dryers in all the bathrooms, not just one. Smart TV downstairs with the most common apps so you can log in to your own services. Wifi is good but has some dead spots around the porch/property so if you can't get a signal just move to another chair. We used the house for day trips including up to Natural Bridge and east to Fairy Stone Park. If the whole parkway is open (there's always some detour somewhere for road work) the house is a perfect home base for everything from milepost 0 to 365.

Mountain trip with friends

I stayed at this home for 4 nights with friends and had a wonderful time. We loved being able to cook all sorts of good food in the full kitchen and explore the large property. It was my dream to bring my closest friends to Buffalo Mountain and Meadow of Dan where part of my family used to live and staying at this house made that experience possible.
